WIF - Women In Futsal
▶Summary
Women In Futsal project aimed at encouraging participation in sports and physical activity of Women especially those in condition of hardship ( e.g: victims of violence, marginalized, or with mental health problems, or perpetrators of crime etc.) through the creation of the first national female futsal Teams in three different European countries. It represents a pilot action that wants to become a symbolic model of the fight against stigma and an instrument for social inclusion and redemption, to be replicated in other European countries. The project is inspired by the experience of “Crazy for Football" the first national futsal team for people with mental health problems, that nowadays, in Italy, represents a great symbol of the fight against the stigma of mental illness and the promotion of sport as a psychiatric rehabilitation tool. The action plan is very simple with 12 months duration, with the active involvement of partners representing three European countries (Italy, Spain, and Portugal) who will organize the player's selections on their territory and will participate in an international event to be held in Rome at the end of the project. Numerous actions are planned to promote sport and physical exercise and also to combat the stigma that is often still present around the most vulnerable people. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
