โ–ถSummary

The Project QuCoM (101046973) is developing a new product that is obviously innovative and easily appreciated advantages to customer. The product is a multi-stage mass-spring system for passive reduction of vibration noise, equipped with heat links and tailored to the requirements of applications working in a cryo-environment. The transfer function of the mass-spring system is engineered to reflect the cryostat vibrations. The heat links are engineered to preserve the cooling power at the experimental stage as well as the mechanical transfer function of the filter. The concept of the technology has been proved, but further development and improvement of key performance parameters is needed before exploitation. Moreover, a more detailed market study and better understanding of end user needs, as well as formulating a mature business case is needed. In this Booster project we propose to do a more detailed market study and formulating a business case for the use of cryogenic Vibration Isolation Systems (cVIS) in the field of Scanning Probe Microscopy at cryogenic temperatures.
