โ–ถSummary

Sport activities offer numerous benefits for children, making them an essential part of a child's development. Sport activities are important for childrens: Physical Health; Motor Skills; Social Interaction; Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem; Healthy Lifestyle Habits. As we are seeing in the last few years the level of sport activity in young children is falling. There were many negative events that even more impacted the sport activity of young children in primary school (age 6 - 13) with focus on those with intellectual disabilities. To address these issues we designed the project PlayBall. The idea of this project is to increase the level of physical activities of children in primary schools, raise their interest for sport and build healthy habits that will help them to grow up in healthy adults. Main idea of the project is to bring back old European ball games and embrace our past in sports. These old ball games are the backbone for todays popular games as football, handball, volleyball,โ€ฆ and this project will present to the children the old ball games from the past and motivate them for sport activities. The project will also promote European values and cultural heritage and exchange of knowledge. Professional experts from project partner s countries (Slovenia, Italy and Greece) will identify and collect existing good practices in the field of innovative approaches at motivation children for sports and raise their inclusion in sport. Main result of the project will be a guide of traditional European Ball Sports and Games from project countries, but also others will be presented. During this project the consortium will also develop an online platform where the old ball games will be explained. Which will be used to train volunteers and promotion. The project ensures the promotion and exchange of European traditional ball sports & games between the project partners and enable them to be able to engage young children in schools. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
