▶Summary
The UNITY IN MOTION project is designed to foster social inclusion and personal development through sports, targeting marginalized groups such as Roma, migrants, refugees, homeless individuals and other socially disadvantaged populations. By providing structured sports training, leadership development, and intercultural activities, the project creates opportunities for participants to engage in community life, build essential skills and enhance their well-being. Through collaboration among sports organizations and NGOs from 11 EU countries, UNITY IN MOTION promotes inclusive sports participation as a tool for empowerment and integration. The project aims to break down barriers that prevent disadvantaged individuals from accessing sports and social opportunities. It achieves this by organizing training sessions in various sports, developing leadership skills and fostering intercultural exchange through storytelling and artistic performances. Participants will gain confidence, teamwork abilities and a sense of belonging, while sports organizations will receive training to enhance their capacity for inclusive practices. The project also includes a major international sports event, uniting participants and stakeholders to celebrate diversity and highlight the role of sports in promoting social cohesion. Aligned with the EU Education Area, the EU Youth Strategy, and the EU Skills Agenda, the project contributes to lifelong learning and the promotion of EU values such as equality and inclusion. The project further supports the Action Plan on Integration and Inclusion by addressing key barriers faced by migrants and refugees and ensuring their active participation in society. Through a robust dissemination strategy, including digital platforms, media campaigns and stakeholder engagement, UNITY IN MOTION ensures the sustainability and scalability of its impact also demonstrating the transformative power of sports in building inclusive communities across Europe. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
