Summary

Youth & Wisdom – Strength in Unity, Growth in Motion (Y&W) aims to promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of older adults through intergenerational sports activities inspired by taekwondo. Coordinated by TKD ROSIGNANO, the project engages grandparents and grandchildren in shared physical exercises, strengthening family bonds and fostering social inclusion. The project addresses the growing need for active aging solutions in Europe, leveraging the intergenerational connection between grandparents and grandchildren. By involving seniors in age-appropriate sports activities, Y&W not only enhances mobility, balance, and cognitive health but also combats loneliness and social isolation. Youth & Wisdom equips sports associations with tools and resources to implement recreational sports programs tailored to seniors. It also provides training for youth workers and coaches, empowering them to engage older adults effectively. Through workshops, video tutorials, and community events, the project promotes a culture of lifelong physical activity and strengthens community cohesion. Aligned with EU priorities on active aging, social inclusion, and intergenerational solidarity, Youth & Wisdom inspires a new approach to sports education. It fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where older adults can remain active, socially connected, and mentally engaged, contributing positively to their communities. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
