โ–ถSummary

This Horizon Europe grant is to be understood within a wider context on EUSST, where other grants are being executed simultaneously with the common objective of improving the EU autonomy on Space Surveillance and Tracking. In particular, this TOP focuses on:- R&I activities are necessary in the sensor domain, both for radiofrequency (i.e., radars, etc.) and optical sensors (i.e. telescopes and innovative wide field optical sensors)..- Contribution to a consolidated and efficient EUSST sensor function.- Improve coverage area, geographical location and performance they can offer: - Ensure an optimum evolution of the configuration and use of the EUSST sensors network- Improved integration and connectivity of value added sensors, ensuring their compliance to the minimum quality requirements (including protocols, procedures, formats and calibration status).Taking into consideration the data procurement activities which are taking place in the EUSST2023-26 SpReg grant, where most of the assets providing data are telescopes providing MEO/GEO data, and the upgrades being funded under the โ€œinnovative Commercial Sensor Upgradesโ€ cascading grants, the EU SST Partnership has decided to improve the LEO survey capabilities. In particular, the following assets will be upgraded:- ES_S3TSR (surveillance radar in Europe)- FR_GRAVES_NG (surveillance radar in Europe)- IT_FLYEYE (survey and tracking LEO telescope)- GR_ (Survey LEO telescope in Europe)- PL_POLON network (survey LEO telescope in VLA Asia, Kazajstan)
