Summary

Postural disorders such as kyphosis, lordosis, and scoliosis are common among children and adolescents. These conditions can lead to discomfort, pain, and long-term health issues if not addressed early. The rise in sedentary behaviours, particularly among children, contributes significantly to the development of postural disorders. Increased screen time and reduced physical activity are key factors exacerbating these issues. Early intervention is crucial for preventing the progression of postural disorders. Exercise and physical activity play a significant role in maintaining a healthy spine. Encouraging active lifestyles from a young age can lead to lifelong benefits, including improved posture, reduced risk of chronic diseases, and enhanced overall well-being. Many existing programs focus on general physical activity but lack specific exercises tailored for postural health. There is a need for comprehensive programs that integrate both physical activity and targeted exercises for spinal health. By addressing these aspects, projects aimed at promoting healthy spines and combating sedentarism can contribute to improving public health outcomes and fostering healthier communities. Hate Figehters Network (HFN) from Serbia, together with its partners Faculty of Sport and Physical Education Nis (FSFV), form Serbia, National Sport Academy “Vasil Levski” (NSA) from Bulgaria and Faculty of Kinesiology “Josip Juraj Strossmayer Univeristy of Osijek” (KIFOS) from Croatia would like to implement project “Stand Tall: Empowering Youth Through Postural Health” in order to address postural and other related issues among children through development of new Methodologies for professors of physical education and sport coaches. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
