โถSummary
The โECOPULSEโ project includes a structure to promote sport-orientated sustainable climate action for the sport sector across the EU. Slowing down climate change and mitigating its impacts requires action in all areas. The sports sector cannot be considered outside of this. Because the problem is too big to be solved only by producing policies or supporting environmental actions. All stakeholders and individuals have the obligation to act responsibly or take responsibility for this issue. In the project, this issue is addressed under two headings: (a) Approved standards, roadmaps, periodic measurements and commitments for climate compatible carbon-neutral activities in line with the Paris Agreement and European Green Deal targets. (b) Using sport as a unifying tool to increase climate action among citizens. The project supports the following objectives and priorities of the EU 5th Work Plan for Sport. Objectives; 1.Awareness raising: To draw people's attention to climate change with volunteers, athletes, stakeholders, etc. by using their power in their own regions. For this purpose, especially by giving examples from sports events, to create public opinion about carbon emissions from the society. 2. Prevention and mitigation: Actions designed to offset some or all of the inevitable impacts of climate change by organising activities to reduce carbon emissions. 3. Compensation and wellness: Enabling sport organisations to integrate actions against climate change into their activities and encouraging them to engage in green activities. 4.Promotion and sustainability: Creating an environmentally friendly design and management in sports organisations, promoting environmentally friendly events to reduce carbon emissions in the sports sector, supporting climate policies with sports organisations. As a result, the ECOPULSE project will develop, implement and disseminate climate-friendly sport events in partnership with 2 municipalities and 2 NGOs. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
