Summary

The "INSPORT+" project seeks to enhance social integration and physical activity among children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by promoting inclusive sports alongside children without IDD. The project aims to provide a comprehensive training program for coaches to develop the capacity to implement adaptive sports activities that cater to children’s diverse physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs. Through a series of inclusive sports activities such as wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, and goalball, the project fosters mutual understanding, social integration, and personal development. In addition to in-person events in Sofia (Bulgaria) and Sakarya (Turkey), the project will digitalize training materials, making them accessible to a wider audience of coaches. By focusing on children's rights and gender equality, the project ensures equal participation and a safe environment for all children. The outcomes of this project will contribute to a more inclusive sports culture, offering policy recommendations for sustainable and inclusive sports initiatives at the national and European levels. This initiative will help bridge gaps in participation, empowering children with IDD to engage in sports and enhancing the overall well-being of all participants. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
