Summary

The Sports Tech industry has experienced significant growth, transforming how athletes train, compete, and interact with their disciplines. However, women remain significantly underrepresented, especially in leadership and entrepreneurial roles, due to systemic biases, limited access to funding, and gender stereotypes. Women entrepreneurs in Sports Tech face particular difficulties in securing venture capital, networking, mentorship, and balancing family responsibilities. Springboard 2 aims to address these challenges by supporting women athletes and women sports professionals aged 24-35 transitioning from competitive sports to entrepreneurship within the Sports Tech industry. Building upon the previous "Springboard 1" project—which identified key barriers women face—this initiative targets three critical areas: 1) Empowering Women Athletes: Equipping participants with entrepreneurial, leadership, and technological skills through tailored educational programs. 2) Building Supportive Communities: Creating mentorship platforms and networking opportunities connecting participants with industry leaders, experienced mentors, and peers. 3) Bridging the Gender Gap: Promoting inclusive policies and practices within Sports Tech companies to tackle systemic biases and stereotypes. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
