WELEAD - WomEn LEADership in sport: promoting the

Coordinated by an Italian Sport Promotion Body (AiCS/Italy), WELEAD has a partnership composed of 6 organisations coming from 2 EU member states and 2 “Region 1” countries: an international sport confederation, CSIT/Austria; a national Olympic Committee, OC BiH/Bosnia and Herzegovina; 1 university, UoM/ Montenegro; 2 sport no profit organisations, SMOC/Bosnia and Herzegovina and WBSI Lab/Montenegro. The main objective is of enhancing the role of women in society, especially unemployed and inactive, through the development and evaluation of sport leadership knowledge and skills. In 4 pilot areas (Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Austria) a team of 5 coaches will be trained in the promotion of gender equality in sport. After an international workshop, they will deliver, together with the professional trainers of the partnership, the WELEAD Academy addressing a total of 120 women, with a special focus on unemployed ones. It will be a blended nonformal educational program composed of 7 smart e-modules (delivered through the OC BiH Moodle Platform) and of an internship period, designed and implemented according to an analysis of women’s needs and an EU benchmarking research. Through a double-engagement strategy, the WELEAD trainees, after the e-training and during the internship period, will become the active organisers of 8 sport events addressed other women and their families. A specific awareness toolkit will be developed aimed at raising awareness on how educational program of women’ leadership impact on the gender gap in sport, addressing different kinds of stakeholders in sport at national and international level. All the results, translated in the pilot area national languages, will be spread through an online/offline dissemination campaign composed of: 8 national sport events (during the European Week of Sport), 4 awareness events, a final conference, a website data-base, a handbook and an awareness video. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
