Sport is recognised as a driver for social change, especially for people who face disadvantage, discrimination and exclusion. This is stimulating a new and emerging field โ Sport for Development, which has been defined as "the intentional use of sport as a tool to promote positive change for individuals and communities". The field is active but lacks flexible, fit-for-purpose training to upskill the Sport for Development workforce as well as staff in the wider sport sector who wish to adopt its principles for social good. SKILLS4CHANGE will promote equality and European values in and through sport. A consortium of 9 partners from 7 countries with extensive Sport for Development experience will drive the project. Main Activities: 1. Research the training priorities of Sport for Development through desk research, a major survey and subject matter expert focus groups 2. Design e-learning modules to upskill the workforce and better promote equality and European values 3. Build an online competency-based self-reflection tool to enable staff in the field and the wider sport sector to analyse and identify their individual training needs 4. Pilot, translate and publish the digital products on a Learning Management System 5. Sustainably embed the SKILLS4CHANGE outputs in the European sport movement and explore options for accreditation and recognition 6. Organise a global stakeholder conference to launch the outputs to the sport movement Impact: improved workforce to address inclusion and diversity and the promotion of equality and European values through sport. Key Deliverables: - A European research report on training priorities for Sport for Development - 10 multilingual e-learning modules addressing identified training priorities and 1 online competency-based self-reflection tool - 180 participants in pilot activities of the digital products - A Strategic Sustainability Action Plan - A Global Sport for Development conference to launch new products that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
