Rainbow - We are the rainbow
▶Summary
The idea for the project emerged from our concerns about violence and fanaticism in sport. As two local sports clubs and an NGO working in the field of sports from Turkey, Greece and Italy, we analysed the issues of violence and fanaticism in our countries and across Europe. In the problem and needs analyses, we saw the impact of education deficiencies. For this reason, we identified children and young people in educational difficulties and at risk of early school dropout as the main target group of the project. In line with our sports-oriented, European values and inclusive solution proposals, we have set objectives that include sports clubs and coaches working with these groups. These are to increase the motivation and continuity of education of disadvantaged children and young people through sports and to improve the competences of coaches and sports clubs working with disadvantaged groups. In order to achieve these objectives, we've planned synchronised practical and theoretical training activities, networking activities, synergy and awareness raising activities at local and European level, inclusive exercise and sports activities. We aimed for sustainable results through target group specific methods and experienced working groups. Our project, which covers a period of 24 months, will contribute to the priorities of ‘promoting equality and European values in and through sport’ in the field of sport. The management of the project with inclusive activities and results for disadvantaged target groups will be carried out by representatives of the project partners, experts and participants from the target groups. Our project will also improve environmentally friendly practices, digital transformation and good governance capacities of local sports clubs. Our project will provide the participating individuals and organisations with the potential to develop international cooperation in the future through networking, European synergy and dissemination activities. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
