INSTRUCT - dIgital aNd holiStic Tool to suppoRt dUal
▶Summary
The ‘dIgital aNd holiStic Tool to suppoRt dUal Careers development in grassroot sports – INSTRUCT’ general objective is to foster the digitalisation of European sports organisations as a mean to reinforce the support they provide to the dual careers’ development of their athletes. To achieve this goal, INSTRUCT will equip 4 European multisport clubs with the new INSTRUCT Digital Solution to support the holistic development of athletes’ dual careers. INSTRUCT is fully aligned with the Erasmus+ Horizontal Priority of addressing digital transformation, as it intends to provide a digital solution to European sports clubs to monitor and assess how athletes progress on their dual careers, following a holistic and comprehensive vision of them. The Digital Solution works as well as a pedagogical and educational tool allowing for a ‘conversation or dialogue’ between Dual Career Coordinators and coaches (and other Dual Career Service Providers / DCSPs) and athletes to jointly assess the performance of an athlete under the several dimensions which are part of their dual careers, and from here take decisions to reinforce, improve or maintain the path taken. Hence, the project clearly contributes as well to the Erasmus+ Specific Priority of encouraging Dual Careers of Athletes. The understanding of DC goes beyond the more classic approach combining sports and education and/or work and follows a holistic vision encompassing several dimensions that put the person and athlete at the centre of the interventions. The project will capitalize the most relevant resources to assess the dual career’s development from pas projects and will integrate them into the new digital tool. This will be tested in 10-month pilot phase with a group of 400 athletes and 54 staff duly trained in the usage of the solution. INSTRUCT is led by Club Natació Banyoles (ES) in a partnership with Sant Cugat Creix (ES), Bayer 04 (DE), Levski (BG), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE) and Area Q (ES). that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
