Summary

Project Nordic Walking Warriors: Empowered Journey is a continuation and expansion of the successful project Nordic Walking Warriors: Breast Cancer Edition. The aim of the project is to further empower breast cancer survivors by promoting Nordic walking as a sustainable form of rehabilitation and long-term benefit for both mental and physical health, as demonstrated by the qualitative and quantitative indicators monitored in the previous project. The project will be implemented in two countries (Croatia and Serbia) and in three cities – Poreč, Pula, and Belgrade – through a comprehensive 12‑month training program focused on improving physical fitness and overall well‑being, which will involve 50 breast cancer survivors. The extended training program replaces the previous 3‑month cycle, with the goal of ensuring gradual, long‑term progress and lasting lifestyle changes. Through the organization of expert workshops with kinesiologists, physiotherapists, and trainers, the program content will be further tailored to the latest scientific insights and practical experiences. Existing training materials will be adapted for the 12‑month period, and additional digital self‑study materials in the form of e‑books and video tutorials will be developed, making the information easily accessible to all participants and raising awareness of the benefits of Nordic walking for breast cancer survivors. Pilot testing of the program will be conducted in each partner organization to gather feedback and implement the necessary adjustments before full implementation. Throughout the program, standardized pre, mid, and post assessments will be carried out to measure the physical and psychological outcomes of the participants, ensuring transparent evaluation of progress. Additionally, three motivational events per partner will be organized to further boost participant engagement and provide ongoing support during the program. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
