EqualHoops 3x3 – 3x3 Mixed-Gender Basketball Teams

Barcel’hona Sports Events – Spain, together with its partner organizations, Hate Fighters Network – Serbia, Basketball Club Junior Bitola – North Macedonia, ADCS Carvalhais – Portugal, would like to implement project “EqualHoops 3x3 – 3x3 Mixed-Gender Basketball Teams” in order to address issues of gender inequality in sport. The "EqualHoops 3x3" project aims to address gender disparities in sports participation by promoting equal opportunities and visibility for female athletes. The initiative will bring together young people, basketball clubs, youth associations, and federations across Europe to foster gender equality through 3x3 basketball tournaments featuring mixed teams. By integrating young male and female athletes in inclusive teams, the project will challenge stereotypes, enhance social cohesion, and promote gender balance in sports. The project will involve partners from different countries organizing local events in their respective communities to achieve a European-wide impact. Main aim: to promote gender equality in sports by encouraging inclusive participation and providing equal opportunities for young male and female athletes to engage in 3x3 basketball tournaments. Specific Objectives • Increase the participation of young people, especially female athletes, in 3x3 basketball by creating an inclusive environment for sports activities. • Raise awareness about gender equality in sports and enhance visibility for women's sports across partner countries. • Strengthen collaboration among basketball clubs, youth associations, and basketball federations to create sustainable opportunities for mixed-gender sporting events. • Foster intercultural exchange and understanding among young athletes and sports organizations in participating countries. • Develop and disseminate a best-practices model for organizing gender-inclusive sports events to inspire similar initiatives across Europe that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
