โ–ถSummary

According to WHO approximately 262 million people worldwide live with asthma, affecting 6,6% of the adolescent population. Asthma is also the most common chronic disease among children impacting 11% of the youth population. A large percentage of asthmatic patients do not engage in regular physical activity because they mistakenly believe they should restrict exercise participation. However, several studies conclude that regular PA not only improves general health but also can positively impact asthma outcomes such as control and quality of life. AsthmaFitPro aims to fill this gap by providing an innovative package of tools including a mobile app and a Moodle platform targeting both minors and adult asthmatic patients aiming to: a) Encourage regular physical activity among asthmatic patients to improve their overall health and asthma control. b) Provide educational content on asthma management, benefits of exercise, and safe workout practices. c) Create a supportive community where asthmatic athletes can share experiences and motivate each other, d) Train PE staff and volunteers to support asthmatics and ensure high-quality service delivery. AsthmaFitPro app will offer personalized sport recommendations and integrating features that help users engage in physical activities safely, educational resources, air quality and weather alerts and a Social Hub where patients will be able connect with others fostering a sense of community and inclusivity. AsthmaFitPro Moodle platform will include courses for PE teachers and parents aiming to educate them on helping asthmatic athletes. AsthmaFitPro will also launch a week-long Social Media Campaign to inspire asthmatic patients to participate in sports. The project's outputs will be tested to a large number of asthmatic athletes and reports will be developed useful for further investigation of the field. The mixed partnership consists of 9 experienced institutions from 6 countries covering all the project's needs. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
