AkTTIVnO - Active Together Through Inclusive and Vital
▶Summary
The project brings together partners L'Arcobaleno (Bologna), Il Chicco (Rome) and Zavod Uvid (Rogaška Slatina, Slovenia) to encourage healthy lifestyle for all, in particular for adults with intellectual disabilities (PIDs). Over 24 months, the project will achieve the following objectives: Specific objective 1: Promote regular practice of sport activities to improve the physical and mental health of at least 60 PIDs, through cycling and water-based activities. This activity include 20 months of regular cycling on two locations - Bologna (Italy) and Rogaška Slatina (Slovenia) and their surrounding areas (total around 100 cycling sessions), as well as at least 24 sessions of water based activities during the summer months in Rome. Specific objective 2: Foster social inclusion and engagement of PIDs, by organizing two inclusive international summer sport camps with 30 participants from Rome, Bologna and Slovenia. The cycling camp will be organized in Dolomites, and the water camp will take place in Il Chicco community in Rome, in their private, adapted swimming pool. Specific objective 3: Build the capacities and collaboration among partners in delivering inclusive sports activities, through quarterly meetings and a mentorship process. Each partner will share their knowledge with others, to help them build their capacities in different areas. Il Chicco has extensive experience in organizing water-based activities, especially suitable for adults with severe intellectual disabilities; L'Arcobaleno in the area of organizing inclusive cycling sessions and cycling summer camp on the mountains; and Zavod Uvid in raising awareness about the potential and the ways to include PIDs in cycling. Specific objective 4: Raise awareness about the importance of inclusion of PIDs in sports among PIDs, professional (personal assistants) and informal (families) caregivers. Activities will reach at least 150 professional caregivers and at least 100 PIDs from all countries. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
