The Proposal for Strategic Actions on Gender Equality in Sport of the European Commission defines gender-based violence as "violence based on a particular sex." This project focuses on education and raising awareness concerning gender-based violence in sports. This project emphasizes the fight against "sexual violence" in sports through data collection, educator training, and awareness-raising. The project aims to: a) Improve information based on evidence regarding sexual harassment, abuse, exploitation, and sexual violence against young athletes in Europe, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Greece. b) Increase the number of national and European initiatives to combat sexual violence against young athletes c) To develop effective educational resources, tools, and recommendations for sports communities and sports institutions in Balkan countries and in Europe, with an emphasis in Serbia, Bulgaria, and Greece to combat sexual violence against young athletes. d) Enhance the exchange of knowledge, information, and best practices in the prevention of sexual violence against young athletes via educational processes and dissemination materials. e) Increase awareness in Balkan countries and in Europe, with an emphasis in Serbia, Bulgaria, and Greece of the need for sexual violence prevention. To achieve the desired results with the "CoViS" initiative, the following steps will be taken: 1. Empirical evidence on sexual assault in Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece 2. Development and publication of instructional materials on social networks and in professional media; 3. Training for trainers and multipliers 4. Participating in public events and creating videos 5. Involvement of sports organizations and institutions in the development of educational actions and action plans to prevent sexual violence in real time.
