Creating Champions for Change has as a main objective to reduce the prevalence of gender-based violence - GVB, both online (on social networks) and offline, but also all forms of violence, in two Neighbourhood East countries (Armenia and Ukraine), and Serbia as well as Greece within the context of football and create tools, capacities and supThe project Creating Champions for Change (CC4C) overall long-term impact is to influence a wider cultural change in society, challenging harmful attitudes, norms, and behaviours that perpetuate gender-based violence and promoting values of respect, equality, and solidarity. The project’s outcome is the development of an inclusive and respectful sporting landscape in the Neighbourhood East, where young athletes feel safe, supported, and empowered to pursue their passion for sports free from the threat of violence or discrimination, based on gender. The Project general objective is to reduce the prevalence of gender-based violence, both online and offline in the Neighbourhood East countries (Ukraine and Armenia), within the context of sports (namely football) and create tools, capacities and supportive environment that will equip young football players with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognize and respond to instances of violence, as well as to empower them to become advocates for change within their sporting communities. Project objectives: • Develop a report on the knowledge, understanding and experiences of under 21 (aged 18-21) football players on gender-based violence, both online and in real life with recommendations for identifying, preventing, addressing GBV. • Make football environments safe spaces. • Equip coaches with the knowledge, skills, and strategies to prevent and address GBV in sports settings (football) and online violence. • Increase capacities of young players to promote positive change. • Raise awareness, share knowledge and influence societal change and stop gender-based violence (in sport). that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
