Summary

The Intergenerational Football in Croatia and Slovenia project fosters inclusion and active lifestyles through football, engaging both young and senior players. Implemented by NK Stari Mladi (Croatia) and NK Brežice (Slovenia), the initiative combines grassroots sports traditions with modern digital engagement. The project addresses declining physical activity across age groups, aligning with Erasmus+ priorities of healthy lifestyles, social inclusion, and accessibility for newcomers to EU funding. Project ctivities include training workshops, community football matches, and digital engagement. NK Stari Mladi provides expertise in community engagement and football traditions, while NK Brežice offers structured youth development and coaching methodologies. The Croatian Football Federation supports with coaching resources and visibility. Short-term: Increased motivation, improved cross-generational relationships, and local awareness. Medium-term: Sustained engagement, structured mentorship, and increased club participation. Long-term: Institutionalisation of intergenerational training, ongoing digital platform use, and expansion to other clubs. Activities include training sessions, workshops on sports psychology and nutrition, digital tools, and intergenerational tournaments. The budget efficiently covers essential costs while leveraging existing club facilities and volunteer engagement.
