In addition to being essential for improving overall health and wellness, sports and physical activity can also be highly successful in preventing diseases and other health-related issues. For the purpose of attracting and keeping young people involved in sports, the sport sector, particularly at the local level, depends on sport staff, mostly coaches. Any sports club, organization, and sporting event's long-term viability depends critically on the involvement of new athletes. In this era of digital revolution, the sports sector needs to adapt and adopt available technology to encourage youth physical activity and further the cause of sports. The project addresses supporting and promoting education in sport by developing new skills for the purposeful use of digital technologies for learning and engagement in cycling discipline that is gaining in popularity in Europe in the recent years since it has become an Olympic sport in 2020. With the intention of providing constructive answers for the issue as outlined, the following project objectives have been established: - to promote education of sport professionals through extra-curricular activities in view of increasing innovation capacity of sport organisations to involve and retain young athletes (newcomers) - to support and promote education in sport by developing VR platform for BMX Freestyle cycling discipline improving sport professionals skills and competences - to embed innovative approach towards the practice of sport and physical activity by training young athletes in a blended setting (VR simulation and actual physical training) - to raise awareness of the benefits of using digital technologies in sports. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
