โ–ถSummary

FRIDAS (Freedom in Rights Identities driven through Arts and Sports) combines sports and art to promote physical and mental health, challenge discrimination, and foster inclusivity. Inspired by Frida Kahlo, the project focuses on transitioning from gender equality to broader inclusion, emphasizing diversity and accessibility, particularly for individuals with disabilities. Combining art and sports, FRIDAS aims to break down barriers and provide opportunities for individuals to express themselves freely, embracing their unique abilities. The initiative continues to highlight rugby, a sport built on loyalty and trust, and combines it with art to break mental and physical barriers. The project spans five countries (Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, Spain, Greece) and involves an Italian wheelchair rugby team as a mentor. By using gamification, storytelling, and multimedia art, young participants will engage with the diverse experiences gaining empathy and understanding. This immersive approach helps to promote a deeper sense of community, respect, and collaboration among athletes with and without disabilities. FRIDAS adopts an innovative approach that bridges multimedia art, gaming together with rugby to challenge stereotypes, foster inclusivity, and create meaningful mentorship opportunities. FRIDAS will also focus on training programs dedicated to coaches and staff, equipping them with tools to support athletes, to embrace and advocate for inclusivity. A unique feature of the project is the creation of an interactive online video game, developed collaboratively by rugby players and multimedia artists. The game will serve as an immersive tool for reflection, allowing participants to explore inclusion in different cultural contexts and engage in a shared experience that transcends physical and social barriers. By combining gaming, art, and sport, FRIDAS fosters a space where all identities are celebrated, and inclusivity becomes a central value of the rugby community. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
