Summary

FROM CLASSROOMS TO THE PITCH | WOMEN'S FOOTBALL: EDUCATE & ENGAGE, EMPOWER & INSPIRE is designed to combat gender disparities in football by leveraging SCHOOLS as transformative platforms for change. It aligns with priority "Inclusion and Diversity – fighting against discrimination in sports, including gender equality", using football as a tool for empowerment, education and social inclusion. The project follows a progressive approach to create a long-term impact: 1) Educating Teachers: a targeted training program will equip 60 teachers with knowledge, strategies and tools to promote gender equality and encourage female participation in football. A digital platform will provide continuous resources and support. 2) Engaging Girls through 30 Schools: after teacher training, a Women’s Football Day in Italy, Slovakia, and Macedonia will introduce 450 girls to football in an inclusive setting, where they will interact with players from the consortium teams and explore opportunities for ongoing participation. 3) Empowering Girls through Football: each country will host structured training sessions focused on technical skills, teamwork and confidence-building. Local tournaments will drive inclusion and engagement, culminating in a final event in Italy, bringing together teachers and consortium teams. 4) Inspiring Cultural Change through Role Models: a Meet & Greet with Barbara Bonansea, Juventus Women and Italian National Team player, will provide a powerful role model encounter in the final event in Italy, inspiring both athletes from consortium's teams and teachers to embrace gender equality in sports. Her presence will enhance media visibility, amplifying the project’s impact and reach. By combining education, engagement, empowerment and inspiration, the project fosters sustainable change, creates long-term partnerships between schools and women’s football clubs, increasing female participation in football while promoting gender equality and inclusion across Europe. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
