Get-up - Life skill empowerment for homeless people
▶Summary
The Get-Up project will aim to empower individuals experiencing homelessness through experiential learning, skill development, and nature-based sport engagement. By utilizing outdoor education in natural settings, the project will foster personal, social, and environmental growth. Participants will engage in hands-on activities that challenge them physically and psychologically, helping to build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience. The holistic approach will integrate nature-based sports to enhance both physical and mental well-being, offering a therapeutic environment that promotes stress reduction, self-confidence, and social inclusion. Through goal-setting, problem-solving, and collaborative activities, participants will develop key life skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership, while overcoming obstacles that expand their comfort zones. The project’s innovative nature-sport-based intervention will create opportunities for homeless individuals to build meaningful connections, improve health outcomes, and create a positive identity. Additionally, the Get-Up project will include a Blended Training & Capacity Building program for professionals working with homeless individuals, equipping them with the skills to design and implement outdoor sport interventions. The project will align with EU priorities on inclusion, diversity, and social cohesion, aiming to reduce stigma and improve the quality of life for homeless individuals. Through this initiative, the Get-Up project will seek to promote active participation, resilience, and empowerment among homeless individuals, contributing to their recovery and social reintegration. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
