โ–ถSummary

The European Network of Sport Ambassadors (SANE) project is a transformative initiative designed to empower sports ambassadors as key agents for community engagement, inclusion, and sustainable sports development across Europe. The project responds to critical needs, including low sports participation rates, lack of role models in grassroots sports, and social barriers preventing marginalized groups from engaging in physical activity. Through a structured capacity-building program, SANE will train, mentor, and mobilize sports ambassadors, equipping them with leadership, event management, and digital communication skills. This initiative will bridge the gap between elite athletes and local communities, ensuring that their influence extends beyond professional sports careers into grassroots initiatives that promote active lifestyles and social cohesion. The project will develop a comprehensive training curriculum, combining online learning, face-to-face workshops, and international exchanges. Ambassadors will be supported by a digital platform, providing resources, networking opportunities, and best practices to ensure long-term impact. They will implement local sports initiatives, fostering inclusive participation, particularly among youth, women, and disadvantaged communities. SANE will strengthen collaboration between sports organizations, policymakers, and local governments, promoting policy integration and long-term sustainability. By the project's end, it will establish a self-sustaining network of ambassadors, ensuring that the impact continues beyond its 24-month duration, contributing to a healthier, more inclusive, and physically active European society. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
