β–ΆSummary

Dadathlon represents, at its core, a series of six large-scale events and family festivals in six European countries adopting a unique intergenerational and family-based approach to recreational sports promotion by targeting fathers and children as main participants. β€œDadathlon” is an original concept of recreational races in running, cycling and hiking aimed specifically at teams of fathers and children of all ages. The goal of Dadathlon is to inspire, encourage and support families from a variety of backgrounds to invest time in physical outdoor activity in order to foster lifelong healthy habits and healthy relationships with their children. The project takes an innovative approach towards building lifelong positive relationships of children towards sport and regular physical activity by focusing on the decisive role that fathers can play in this process and by providing incentives through the "virtual Dadathlon" for families to be active all the time. Going beyond the organisation of 6 national sport events, the Dadahlon project also ensures that it builds capacities within the participating countries and sets the groundwork for a future rollout of many other independent Dadathlon events. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
