2Springs - The Colors of the Second Spring
▶Summary
The Colors of the Second Spring is a small-scale partnership project in the field of sport by four partner organizations from Finland, Slovakia and Turkey. The project is based on the socio-economic needs of an ageing population in various European countries. Analyses and research show that a healthier and more active life for older people will not only benefit them, but also their families and the European society. For this reason, the project proposed a program for active and quality old age, focusing on exercise and sports, but also including social and cultural activities. The target groups of the project are older people living in rural areas in the locations of the project partners and the coaches planning to work with these groups. The 24-month project aims to increase the participation of older people in healthy living and exercise activities, to improve the competencies of coaches working with these groups, to increase the inclusiveness of sports clubs for these groups and to contribute to the awareness of active and quality ageing in European communities. These objectives will be achieved through training studies, physical activities, social and cultural events, local and European synergies, networking, dissemination and evaluation activities. The project also includes specific activities such as European Week of Sport events and intergenerational interaction activities. The project activities will be coordinated in synchronized manner in the three countries, with a management strategy that will ensure the active involvement of the project actors. The project has an inclusive and participatory structure, complementary objectives, characteristics of the target groups and sustainable results for these groups. For these reasons, it’ll contribute to the Erasmus+ Program's priority of encouraging healthy lifestyles for all in the field of Sport. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
