Summary

The KARATE LIFE project is designed to enhance the motor and emotional skills of 75 children aged 6-14, including 25 who face psychomotor development challenges. By integrating innovative training methodologies, psychological support, and inclusive practices, the project aims to provide an effective sports-based developmental program while fostering teamwork, resilience, and self-discipline. Through a transnational partnership between META Oradea (Romania), WADO Karate Sportunion (Austria), and IKUEIKAN Karate Sportegyesulet (Hungary), the project leverages the expertise of experienced karate trainers, sport psychologists, and physical therapists to create an engaging, structured, and adaptive training curriculum. The project will implement: - A comprehensive karate training program, integrating psychological and physical development techniques tailored to children's individual needs. - Pilot sessions across the three countries, testing different intervention methods and evaluating their impact on children’s motor coordination, emotional regulation, and social skills. - Coaches' professional development, offering new methodologies and evidence-based training approaches. - Public dissemination activities, including a final karate competition, stakeholder engagement, and policy recommendations for promoting inclusive sports training. Expected Impact: - Short-term: Improved motor skills, emotional well-being, and self-confidence of participating children. - Medium-term: A wider adoption of inclusive sports training methods among karate clubs and schools. - Long-term: Integration of the project’s methodologies into national and European sports programs, ensuring lasting benefits for youth sports education. By fostering international collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity, KARATE LIFE aims to establish a sustainable framework for using karate as a tool for physical and emotional development, offering children equal opportunities to grow and succeed in that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
