โ–ถSummary

Children with developmental disabilities (DD) face significant challenges in accessing physical activities, leading to reduced participation, lower physical fitness, and limited social integration. The IN-FIT project addresses this gap by developing inclusive fitness and dance-based programmes supported by a gamified mobile application, fostering engagement and motivation for children with DD. Through a multisectoral and transnational approach, the project enhances physical health, emotional well-being, and social inclusion, ensuring sustainable impact across diverse communities in Europe. By integrating adaptive fitness training, structured dance activities, and gamification elements, IN-FIT provides an innovative model for inclusive movement-based education. The project follows an evidence-based methodology, co-developing activities with children, parents, educators, and sport professionals to create accessible, engaging, and personalised interventions. The digital tool will offer customisable challenges, progress tracking, and interactive rewards, ensuring children remain motivated while improving motor skills and physical literacy. Implementation will take place in multiple European countries, allowing cross-border knowledge exchange and best practice replication. The project will equip parents and caregivers with tools to support engagement, while providing coaches, teachers, and inclusive sport organisations with training resources and guidelines to enhance their inclusive teaching strategies. Aligned with Erasmus+ Sport priorities, IN-FIT promotes social inclusion, digital innovation, and equal access to sports. Expected outcomes include a validated mobile app, an Inclusive Fitness Programme Handbook, professional training resources, and a European impact report. By combining fitness, dance, and technology, IN-FIT offers a scalable, cost-effective solution for inclusive physical activity, ensuring long-term sustainability and European-level adoption. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
