VolleyABLE - Sport for Us: Digital Activities Promoting
▶Summary
Sport for Us: Digital Activities Promoting Inclusion and Sustainability in Sitting Volleyball (VolleyABLE) is an Erasmus+ project that enhances sitting volleyball’s capacity, promotes inclusion, and fosters social integration for individuals with disabilities. By offering digital and blended learning opportunities in four European countries, it aims to expand accessibility. Aligned with Erasmus+ horizantal priorities of digital transformation, inclusion, and diversity, VolleyABLE unites organizations from Türkiye (coordinator), Italy, France, and Luxembourg. The consortium includes universities, volleyball federations, international federations, and NGOs specializing in sitting volleyball, ensuring equal opportunities for athletes with disabilities, women, economically disadvantaged individuals, youth, and beginners. Leveraging digital technologies, VolleyABLE develops tools such as a mobile app for beginners, open-access e-learning materials, digital storytelling webinars, blended workshops, and a documentary on sitting volleyball athletes. These resources benefit athletes, volunteers, coaches, youth leaders, and local communities, supporting grassroots development and civic engagement. VolleyABLE fosters local adoption of sitting volleyball through digital materials and online learning platforms, increasing accessibility for coaches, volunteers, and educators. Open-access educational resources will be used in collaboration with civil society organizations, sports clubs, and local governments to expand the sport’s reach and enhance social inclusion. The project comprises four work packages: WP1: Project Management and Coordination, WP2: Virtual Sitting Volleyball Ecosystem, WP3: Inclusion and Diversity in Sitting Volleyball, and WP4: Sustainability through Dissemination, Communication, and Evaluation. These efforts create a unique collaborative environment, strengthening institutional capacities and encouraging contributions to the European volleyball ecosystem. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
