Summary

The “Quixo3x3 - Enhancing health and citizenship through 3x3 basketball“ is a Not-for-profit Local event 1 de event initiative aimed at replicating and upgrading previous experience of the Basketball Federation of Castilla-La Mancha in the organization of the event Quijo 3x3, whose methodology and engagement has being very successful, with gains for the participants that goes further then the improvement of basketball skills. Quixo3x3 seeks to use Quijo3x3 philosophy of involving participants with different roles within their teams and the event (following Daryl Siedent “Sport Education” model”) and to wide its methodology to foster also the development of health, citizenship, joy and personal and social competences and skills through the participant in the event. The proposal seeks the implementation of the event in other countries beside Spain, namely Bulgaria and Cyprus, through their National Basketball Federations. Partner organizations and their coaches will be trained in the Quixo3x3 methodology and thus implement it in their own national/local ecosystem with the envolvement of local clubs/school clubs. The main aim of the project is to boost youth participation in basketball with a new, fun and healthy and competence-based competition methodology (i.e., Quixo3x3), through (1) the revision and upgrading of enhance a comprehensive Quixo3x3 methodology for youth basketball training, (2) the training of coaches at both national and international levels in the Quixo3x3 methodology, and (3) encouraging the participation of young players in Quixo3x3 local events, promoting their sustained involvement in healthy basketball practices. Beside the 3 main events, a MOOC with the Quixo3x3 methodology is an output of the project, making it accessible to any stakeholder that may be willing to know or to implement this event methodology. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
