Summary

Seaborg proposes a novel type of nuclear reactor called the ""Compact Molten Salt Reactor (CMSR)"". Our ambition is to use the CSMR to complement, and not substitute, other sustainable energy sources (like renewables) to accelerate the global decarbonization process. The CMSR works according to different principles than the existing nuclear power plants: it is safe by design (by the physics of nature, cannot melt down or explode) and reduces radioactive waste (the goal is to recycle spent fuel waste to reduce footprint and storage). The CMSR emits no greenhouse gases while operating and has the lowest resource use (concrete, glass, steel, fuel) of all other energy sources, including renewables. The CMSR outcompetes fossil fuels on free market terms: the Levelized Cost Of Electricity is about 50% the one of coal and 70% the one of gas.Seaborg is the largest nuclear reactor start-up outside of North America, and it has patented technologies, prestigious partners, and pilot customers.""
