INTOFashion Platform
▶Summary
Three strategic partners – [FAD (London, UK); Asociación Cultural Roda - BIAAF (Bilbao, Spain); Associazione Moda e Modi (Milan, Italy)] - collaborated to create INTOFashion, a unique ICT platform to support European young people considering progression to a career in fashion and design. The web tool created incorporates social media and is both factual and pedagogical, providing sector-specific careers guidance information and employability tools. The project drew on the strengths in each of the three fashion driving regions (UK, Spain, Italy), identifying and consolidating best practice nationally, and it has subsequently been disseminated Europe-wide through partnerships with groups in Sweden, Denmark, Croatia and Poland. This dissemination has led to developing further partnerships with Horisot Forenig in Sweden and with Slovenia. The result of this project has been the creation of the www.intofashion.eu platform which has been disseminated widely in our partner countries and afield. INTOFashion responds to the EU Europe 2020 Strategy objective of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, as well as EU Youth Policy priorities to provide more efficient career guidance approaches and improve the transition between education, training and the workplace. The project is rooted in the principle that “the cultural and creative sectors are a significant driver of growth and jobs in Europe...contributing significantly to social cohesion and well-being. Cultural and creative industries employ millions of people across the EU, contribute a substantial share to EU GDP and grow faster than the rest of the economy.” (Public Policy Exchange).
