HIGH-QUALITY YOUTH CENTERS IN EUROPE

European society, like the other developed societies, presents a complex panorama regarding the process of insertion of young people in active social life. Thus, all the facets that should be understood as normal (work, studies, housing, relationships, economy, free time, family, etc.) often become heavy links in a chain that we call youth. Following the Report Youth in Spain published by the Institute of Youth we can say that the work experience of young people is often very precarious, same as participation in social life. With this panorama, the youth spaces or youth centers take an absolute relevance. Our society needs spaces for growth and healthy leisure, where youth can feel comfortable and thus can better develop their full potential. Centers that provide information, spaces of debate, personal spaces, and a long etcetera that we still can not imagine. The four partners of this project (CJCV, BRF, EDELA EESTI and ISOS) want to explore this area in order to be able to demand from the competent authorities the creation of such spaces with the precise characteristics. For 24 months we will work as a team to design an ideal youth center-space manual, with presence both online and offline. This manual will be accompanied by 4 promotional videos of the youth services, to make known the importance of them. With this project we will be able to give a new turn to the "rusty" youth information centers, so that they adapt to the reality of the XXI century and are attractive to the youth group.
