YC2 - Youth Councils Yet Coming

Background Our project was coming from the experience and analysis which we and our partner organizations had in the field of youth councils. The needs which we addressed in this project were: 1. Members and coordinators of Municipal Youth Councils had lack of methodological support. This was the cause for other issues like: Youth were not prepared for the complicated process of Youth Councils; Lack of understanding and communication between Youth Council members; Lack of responsibility inside the Youth Councils; Lack of communication between Youth Council and target groups; Manipulation from local public authorities etc... 2. Hard work of Municipal Youth Councils was not recognized in the society. This was related to other problems like: Lack of awareness about Youth Council institution among youth and other citizens; Lack of dialogue between different stakeholders; Lack of awareness about benefits coming from membership in Youth Council; No support from local authorities; Struggling with motivation of their peers; etc. 3. Municipal Youth Councils were missing a tool for sharing of experience and resources, and building their own specific network Objectives Project objectives: 1. Increase the methodological support of members and coordinators of Municipal Youth Councils (Indicator: Created and published Methodology for training of Municipal Youth Councils' members and Digital guide for Youth Council.) 2. Increase the awareness in the society (municipal representatives, NGOs, Policy makers) about the mission, role and activities of Youth Councils.(Indicator: Created and published Study on Youth Councils) 3. Improve the options for networking, resources and experience sharing among the Municipal Youth Councils (Indicator: Created and published Web Platform for Youth Councils). Implementation Project activities were focused on creation of Intellectual Outputs: Activity A1 linked to Intellectual Output O1 - Study on Youth Councils Activity A2 linked to Intellectual Output O2 - Methodology for Training of Youth Councils' Members Activity A3 linked to Intellectual Output O3 - Digital Guide for Youth Council & Web Platform On top of that we have organized Pilot Training for Youth Councils' members (C1) to test the Methodology, Multiplier Event (E1) to share the intellectual outputs and 3 Transnational Project Meetings to discuss project activities preparation, organization, progress etc.. Achievements Project outputs (directly linked to Intellectual Outputs): 1. Output: Study on Youth Councils (link to Objective no. 2) Outcome: Users of the study increased their awareness and knowledge about Youth Council's mission, role and activities. Impact: In long-term perspective this will contribute to higher recognition of Municipal Youth Council's work. 2. Output: Methodology for Training of Youth Councils' Members (link to Objective no. 1) Outcome: Coordinators of Youth Councils and Youth workers got knowledge how to develop personal, professional and social competencies of Youth Councils' members. Participants of Pilot training for Youth Councils increased their competencies in the field of communication, teamwork, motivation. Impact: From the long-term perspective this will increase level of participation of youth on a local level. 3. Output: Digital Guide for Youth Council & Web Platform (link to Objective no. 1, 2 and 3) Outcome: Users of the Digital Guide got better understanding on Youth Council work. Members of Youth Councils got opportunity to network with other Youth Councils and share experience. Impact: From the long-term perspective this will contribute to higher efficiency and quality of Youth Councils' work.
