Background Climate change is here. As its impact intensifies over time, it is today's children and young people who will face the worst effects. Young people around the world have begun to fight back. Young people everywhere are harnessing their skills to speak out for climate action. Climate change is increasingly recognised as an emerging crisis that requires radical and immediate action. The changes needed range from the local to the global: From the day-to-day activities of individuals to economic and social development. With this project we wanted to work first-hand on environmental issues. Through this international project, young people and youth workers have been able to discover how the environment is one of the great global challenges of our time, and how solutions can and must be found. and how solutions can and must be found together with other countries. Furthermore, they have become aware of the fact that, while sustainable living is a global effort, efforts must also be made at the local level. Therefore, environmental education, concrete sustainable action and environmental awareness have been the main concerns of the project. Objectives The project's main objective was to bring together European organisations working on environmental issues, to raise awareness of environmental issues and to strengthen the participation of young people in environmental activities and decisions at local level as a driver for change. Objectives: - To provide youth organisations with tools and methods to involve young people and promote active citizenship and care for the environment. - To train youth workers with efficient tools and resources to engage young people in community environmental education. - Empower and support young people to participate in decision-making related to climate change. - Promote youth commitment to the principles of environmental conservation. - Stimulate local actions by organisations and young people for the protection of the environment and the wise use of the Earth's resources. - To share and discuss ideas, practices and methods with other European organisations on environmental protection. - Support NGOs in raising awareness of environmental and climate change issues. Implementation During the project we have carried out different activities such as: Working meetings in the different countries that were part of the project such as Spain, Italy, Portugal, UK. Ebook of good practices and methods on environmental protection in the partner countries. Training in Czech Republic, to acquire efficient tools and resources to involve young people in environmental education in the community. Training event at local level, addressed to young people in which they learned ICT tools, and how to develop an environmental activity from scratch to raise awareness in the communities. Each partner organised 1 workshop in their country, in total we had (5). Local activities focused on raising awareness and motivating the community about the importance of environmental protection and climate change. Each country organised a youth-led activity. Dissemination activities and visibility of the project in all countries. Achievements -E-book containing good practices on activities, workshops, resources, campaigns to fight climate change and raise awareness at local level in different countries. different countries. -Training in Czech Republic, to acquire efficient tools and resources to engage young people in community environmental education. -Workshop at local level, aimed at young people to learn about ICT tools, and how to develop an environmental activity from 0. -9 Local activities focused on raising awareness and motivating the community about the importance of environmental protection and climate change.
