Bridging Inclusive Temporary Use
βΆSummary
Background We applied for the KA205 as we came to notice how a tool such as temporary use of building has a significant impact on bridging the gap existing between municipalities, communities, organizations within a community and experts relevant to urban redevelopment. The need for new ways to place those various groups to talk together. Those exchanges allowed us, citizens, to co-create the cities we live in. Cities are being taken by profit- making enterprises, some communities are not seen and heard. There is a need for creating space where communities can meet and organize themselves We also believe that we have strengthened and expanded temporary use network. We think that groups need to exchange in order to improved ways on engaging and motivating young people on local level in long-term. This project has been crucial also for development of professionals of the field of temporary use. Exchanges to project with different practices, communication with more experienced colleagues and experts has strengthened the skills of the teams of each participant organization. Through collaborating with municipalities, we have strengthened temporary use as a possible and effective urban planning tool also in bureaucratic and governing institutions Objectives Through the BITU project we wanted to create moments (travels) and tools (IOβs) to improve the engagement of young people and their communities within their respective municipalities and beyond them by using temporary use practices! In other words, we wanted to spread the practice of temporary use of buildings as we believe that it allows multiple group of citizens to organize themselves and be heard! By creating the IO's and exchanges between organisations, we wanted not only to invite new people to explore temporary use, but also strengthen the already working people of this field and train new professionals who, after this project had the skillset and knowledge to take part in core teams of the participant projects. Implementation Activities during which participants discover other practices and share : Training courses (C1 and C6) : those two activities took the shape of a trip (5 days) to increase learning opportunities. The activities during these two trips were mostly workshops and presentations of the intellectual outputs. Study Visits (C2,C3,C4,C5) : these field trips aimed to Visit the different buildings and project led by each partners organizations Increased knowledge and "know-how" of the social temporary use carried out by Communa (IO3) Contribute to the daily live of a building and its community (giving back activities, volunteering at local events, etc) Activities where we present the outcomes on the local levels : Multiplier events: Those four events aimed at presenting the outcomes of two years of work on the four intellectual outputs and the collection of the experiences. Each partner organization decided on the shape and the context of the event to make sure it reaches representatives of the associated partners, municipality representatives and city development field. All O1-4 were shared during the events to promote the results, project itself and the program Erasmus+ ! Team meetings and dissemination events Please see ACTIVITY REPORT Achievements The BITU project led to multiple outcomes: As planned in the application we (with some delay due to the covid crisis), have organized : 4 Innovative educational intellectual outputs (IOs) 2 Training courses 4 Study visits 4 Transnational meetings 4 Multiplier events: Target groups reached There were various outputs: new collaborations, empowerment of young activities, new discoveries, sharing of skills, nurturing the feeling of emancipation among communities, new friendship, new ways of doing things. The IOβs allowed the participants and the partners to feel more legit in their practices. Please see ACTIVITY REPORT
