โ–ถSummary

Background The consortium applied for this project to address the urgent need to mitigate anthropogenic climate change and bridge the gap between scientific understanding and public action. To effectively engage young people, the consortium recognized the importance of utilising innovative methods such as simulation games and role-playing scenarios. These objectives aligned with NECPs and the New Green Deal, contributing to the European Youth Strategy. The project aimed to develop outputs including training packages, simulation games, a MOOC, and policy recommendations (IO1-IO4). The objectives of the project were to: -Develop knowledge and skills among youth workers to critically reflect on climate change -Build the capacity of youth workers by using Augmented Reality and Simulation Games -Provide tools for implementing and evaluating key competences of young people through action research -Utilize existing platforms and equip youth workers with technical knowledge for content creation -Foster knowledge and understanding of climate change and sustainable development Overall, the consortium aimed to empower youth workers, align with EU priorities, and address climate change challenges. Objectives The project aimed to achieve the following objectives: 1. Develop a broad set of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to sensitize, recruit, mobilise and adequately support youth workers and the youth enabling them to critically reflect on climate change as a major environmental challenge that requires immediate action 2. Build the capacity of front-line youth workers, professionals and educators to use bespoke Mobile Augmented Reality and Simulations Games 3. Provide youth workers and youth professionals with the tools and methodology to implement, evaluate and assess key competences of young people through action research based; 4. Make use of the existing AR and Simulation games platforms and provide youth workers with the necessary technical knowledge to create their content for fostering young people key competences through learning about Climate Change; 5. Develop knowledge and critical understanding of climate change and sustainable development issues. Overall, the project sought to bridge the gap between scientific understanding and public action on climate change, empower youth workers, and support sustainable development. Implementation The ActNow consortium implemented the following activities as part of the project: -Developed IO1: Augmented Reality Training Package and Trainer's Manual -Created IO2: Simulation Game -Developed IO3: MOOC for climate action -Produced IO4: Policy & Practice Recommendations Other implemented activities include: -Administrative staff and cost management -Quality assurance and evaluation measures -Consortium meetings (2 F2F and 8 online) and bilateral meetings (4) -Progress reports and narrative reports every six months -Dissemination activities as per the dissemination and sustainability plan -Project management guidelines and exploitation plan -Maintenance of dissemination logs Overall, the consortium successfully implemented these activities to achieve the project's objectives and deliver the intended outputs. Achievements The project produced the following concrete outputs and results: -Project Plan -Partnership Agreements Contracts -Project Website -Dissemination and Sustainability Plan -Exploitation Plan -Dissemination Materials (1 brochure, Banners and 2 leaflets) -News Items and Press Releases (52 news items and 21 press releases) -Dissemination Logs -Progress, Interim, and Final Reports -Financial Reports -Evaluation and Quality Assurance (QA) Plan -Augmented Reality Training Package and Trainer's Manual (in 6 languages) -Four Simulation Games and Role-Playing Board Games -MOOC for Climate Action (in 6 languages) -Policy & Practice Recommendations (in 6 languages) These outputs and results contributed to raising awareness, disseminating project information, providing training resources, and offering recommendations for addressing climate change challenges.
