Pro Youth - Empowering youth workers and youth in the protection and prevention from honor violence

Background Pro Youth -project addressed the issue of honour related violence (HRV), including honour killing, forced marriage and gender-based conflicts and violence. Pro Youth has been a joint innovative project of partners from Finland, Italy and Jordan, who all work on the honour related violence issues nationally, as well as in cooperation transnationally. The partners applied for the project in order to carry out co-operation, co-development and co-creation within the theme of HRV and to develop the knowledge base and methods for the professionals working with youth.. The project created practices and actual tools with intercultural approach for the use of the youth and the professionals working with youth. Objectives ProYouth wanted to achieve tools for the professionals and the youth, to better understand and combat honor related conflict and violence. This was done by international cooperation and co-development work. Implementation Our activities included: - the project team meetings online - the transnational project meetings - the multiplier events, local seminars in Italy and Jordan, and final seminar in Finland - the study visits, in Italy and in Jordan - the survey conducted in each country, with youth and with professionals - the IO testing conducted in each country Achievements - The Pro Youth Manual for the Professionals - The web app YANA ("You are not alone") - The Pro Youth Training Modules for Police and for Social/Youth Workers
