Jobs of the Future
โถSummary
Background We applied for this project because we wanted to address the shortage of tech-skilled individuals in the European Union and the resulting damage to the economy, as well as the underrepresentation of women in the field of tech. The project aimed to inspire and guide youth aged 14 to 25 to engage with future technological occupations and challenge the lack of interest in tech studies. The project aimed to broaden young people's future career prospects and provide greater flexibility in employment choices. The project also sought to achieve gender balance in participation in all mobility activities implemented throughout the project. The shortage of tech skilled labor was a significant issue in many EU member states, including Italy, Latvia, Cyprus, France, and Romania, where there was an insufficient number of specialists in the tech disciplines to meet the demand for computing and ICT skills. Through job shadowing activities, pilot tests, local workshops, and dissemination activities, the project aimed to address the employability of future generations and provide opportunities for all European youth to access professional and educational opportunities in the tech sector, in spite of disparities and divergences.
