SP - MOVE YOUR LIMITS
โถSummary
Background Stella Polaris has held workshops throughout Europe for more than 30 years. The work has been carried out mainly with youth signing up for workshops held by various institutions and theatres that have called Per Spildra Borg in as a teacher/trainer. His expertise has been called upon based on hearsay of amazing results and his strong position in the theatre community of Central Europe. Organizers of these workshops have for a long time asked Stella Polaris to prepare curricula and manuals as tools for youth workers who want to adapt some of Perโs techniques to their own youth work in their organizations. This project aims at producing such a toolkit for interested youth workers and trainers and educators in their respective organizations. To make sure a qualitatively strong set of guidelines and instruction videos is produced, we have asked three longstanding partners to join us in developing such a kit. It is our belief that the transnational partnership is necessary to produce tools that will be of value to youth workers in different cultures, and that the chosen partners have the best knowledge as to what sections of learning would benefit youth throughout Europe the most. Objectives The idea behind the proposal was to document the long used techniques of the Stella Polaris theatre, developed by Per Spildra Borg. In cooperation with the 3 partners chosen as collaborators on this project to ensure that his methods would be carried on in many organizations and developed by new trainers and teachers of theatre and the spiritual arts. We wantede to equip organizations with useable tools that they could adapt to their own environments and the situation in their own youth work. By engaging the partners in establishing what was the main need of their organizations, we felt that the partnership and this proposal was a good way to go about setting up such a toolkit. Implementation The project was organized with 4 planned Transnational meetings. Organized to settle administrative issues, sign contracts, division of tasks a.s.f. The partnership produced 2 IO's , the first one as a preparation for the main IO, the instructional Video. Four Training/teaching events were held at the partner's venues, all linked to other cultural events taking place at the partner's localisation Four Multiplier events were held at local venues, using the IO and implementing the developed methods. Achievements The main concrete output from the project was the documentary movie, IO 2, on the methods of Stella Polaris as the tangible tool that will be a tool to disseminate and use for partners and others now and in the future. As the Four Training events were all tied to culture events taking place at the partner venues, four small, but important "performances" were presented at the partner venues as examples of what implementation of these methods can actually produce. Very well received at all venues, great experience for the participants!
