โ–ถSummary

Background Tรผrkiye and Europe are facing one of the most pressing and current issues, which is the integration of young refugees who have been forced to flee their countries due to persecution, war, or violence. The number of forcibly displaced people worldwide has exceeded 103 million, the fastest increase in six months. In Syria, with a population of 22.5 million in 2011, the number of internally displaced people reached 13.5 million, according to UNHCR Global Trends data. Turkey hosts the largest number of refugees globally. Approximately one-third of this group consists of young individuals aged between 15 and 30, making the efforts to support this demographic even more critical. The needs of these young refugees span across various intertwined areas, such as education, social conditions, employment, health, and housing, turning this group into both vulnerable and receptive to societal influences. The main goal of the undertaken project is to develop necessary and innovative tools to support the social and economic integration of young refugees between the ages of 15 and 30 in their host countries. By doing so, the project aims to enhance their life skills and empower them for better participation in society and the economy. Objectives The project aims to make a concrete leap beyond previous initiatives targeting refugees by utilizing innovative digital tools to support young refugees in developing 21st-century skills, thereby enhancing their social and economic integration. -Within the scope of the project activities, the following outcomes have been achieved: -Supporting young refugees' participation in academic and vocational education, enabling them to acquire 21st-century skills. -Developing digital tools and multilingual approaches to overcome the language barrier, which is a significant challenge for young refugees. -Providing job placement support, crucial for the integration of young refugees. -Offering psychosocial support tools in both the public and civil society domains to address the challenges young refugees face, such as migration, separation, trauma, and exclusion. -Ensuring effective use of open-access tools not only for project participants but also for providing mass services and ensuring sustainability. -Developing comprehensive and multilingual resources for future projects targeting young refugees. Through these activities, the project has successfully achieved its expected outcomes and contributed to the social and economic inclusion. Implementation The project has implemented a series of interrelated and structured activities. Here is a chronological list of the activities carried out: -Three transnational meetings (M1, M2, M3) were organized with project partners to manage the project process and discuss intellectual outputs. -An additional activity, not initially budgeted, was included, and a survey with 87 questions was conducted for 750 young refugees in 3 countries and 10 cities. -Two Learning, Teaching, and Training (LTT) activities were carried out within the project. These international educational programs were designed as the Leadership Academy for Young Refugees and the -Entrepreneurship Academy for Young Refugees, focusing on widespread learning. -Two intellectual outputs were developed within the project. The e-guide and e-learning platform were prepared in five languages to support the social and economic aspects of young refugees' integration. -To disseminate the project outputs and promote their usage in refugee studies, a multiplier event was organized in Ankara, with a total of 64 participants attending. The project's activities have been well-structured and aimed at addressing various aspects of supporting young refugees in their integration journey. Achievements E-guide: The E-guide consists of a total of 50 pages, covering the following topics: Survey Results, Concepts, Social and Cultural Differences, Integration through Social Activities, Integration through Cultural Activities, Integration through Off-Campus Activities, Integration through Sports Activities, Integration through Social Work and Volunteer Activities, and Integration through Digital Tools. E-learning Platform: Nine education modules have been prepared in five languages (General Information, Individual Questions, Social Environment, Cultural Integration, Education, Employment, Civil Society Organizations, Health, and Government Support), including nine educational videos, nine resource sharing items, and nine quizzes. The platform is shared on Moodle E-learning Platform and YouTube channels to ensure widespread usage. Two additional intellectual outputs: Survey Conducted in Three Countries: A survey consisting of 87 questions was conducted for a total of 750 young refugees in three countries, and the data obtained from the results enriched other intellectual outputs. T-kit for Educational Contents: T-kits were prepared for the educational programs organized during the Learning, Teaching, and Training (LTT) activities.
