▶Objectives
The project pursues several goals designed to enhance classroom learning, particularly in STEM subjects, by connecting theory with practical examples drawn from the animation field: - Showing how scientific and technological principles underpin the animation process gives students a clear picture of how coursework translates into real-world applications. This helps energize subjects like mathematics, physics, and engineering, making them more appealing and relevant. Students see how classroom material moves beyond textbooks to inform actual creative workflows, reinforcing why academic concepts matter in practical settings. By introducing animation as a teaching and learning medium, a hands-on way to explore curriculum topics can be offered. Students learn not only the subject content but also how to transform theoretical concepts into visual forms. This approach adds an active, creative element to the classroom and encourages a deeper understanding of complex ideas. Through direct interaction with animation production steps, learners discover how digital content is planned, produced, and refined. This behind-the-scenes insight fosters a thoughtful approach to media consumption, aligning with European recommendations.
▶Activities
The core activities of ANIWORX centred on producing its main results through collaboration between school partners and industry experts. A range of methods—including design thinking, industry research, requirements engineering, and iterative user testing—guided the creation of materials that bring animation and curricula closer together. The production of digital content, such as videos and an online information platform, was a key element. Curriculum research, material development, and the design of guidebooks and training schemes supported educators in introducing animation-based learning to the classroom. Several Transnational Project Meetings took place to coordinate tasks and maintain a clear overview of ongoing work. In the second year, a Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity was held in Vienna at HTL Spengergasse. This event offered students from Spain, France, and Slovenia hands-on sessions in animation and gave teachers an opportunity to exchange insights, evaluate project progress, and identify areas needing further attention. To share outcomes and gather feedback, the project included multiplier events where educators, students, and local communities could explore the newly developed resources. Dissemination efforts reached audiences through partner networks, social media channels, and presentations at various events. These combined activities promoted animation as a teaching medium, enhanced understanding of its technical foundations, and reinforced the link between classroom content and real-world applications.
