CINAMON - Spice up your digital analytical skills for Climate Action and Monitoring
▶Summary
The CINAMON project successfully addressed the urgent need for skilled climate managers across Europe by developing a tailored VET training program. Focused on equipping climate managers with essential digital tools and climate data literacy, it has empowered professionals to drive purposeful, fact-based climate action at municipal and corporate levels. By integrating climate action with digital transformation, participants gained expertise in mitigation, adaptation, and resilience strategies, while mastering climate data collection, analysis, and monitoring to effectively plan, track, and report. The project also created the comprehensive repository CAT -climate action tools, ensuring climate managers can exploit existing resources to make informed, greener decisions. A partnership of four NGOs and a research SME, CINAMON drew on extensive international experience to deliver this training, meeting the increasing demand for climate reporting across sectors. With the EU Green Deal's ambitious targets, CINAMON contributed significantly to building the workforce needed for a climate-neutral future.
▶Objectives
Climate managers across Europe were targeted to be empowered by providing essential digital competencies for climate action and communication in the areas of mitigation and adaptation. Two e-learning courses were developed and tested: one focused on digital climate action and campaigning, and the other on climate impact measurement, equipping participants with digital, mathematical, and statistical skills to interpret data and plan effective climate strategies. Additionally, the project launched „CAT -climate action tools“ an interactive platform offering structured access to climate services and tools. Digital climate summits were introduced for learning, networking, and knowledge exchange, ensuring more impact of project outcomes. CINAMON attracted some attention, securing continued interest in the two self-paced e-learning courses beyond their initial phase, making a contribution to the EU’s climate goals. The project provided critical skills to climate managers, enabling them to take effective climate action and drive the transition to a decarbonized economy.
