The Portfolio for Employment (PFE) project aimed to help VET trainees navigate the 'new normal' and enter successfully the job market. Its STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES were facilitating job access, proposing learning opportunities to upskill key competences, catering to the needs of VET trainees from all backgrounds, and promoting social inclusion. It also fostered international cooperation, multilingualism, and awareness of European citizenship through Erasmus+. PFE aimed to create a Portfolio with tools to ease job-market entry, adapting the existing resources and developing innovative solutions based on digital education and assistive technologies. The project prioritized gender equality, social inclusion, and outreach to underrepresented groups, ensuring access to employment opportunities for all. By enhancing VET curricula and supporting educators in adapting training to evolving skill needs, PFE was aligning with digital and economic transitions. Sustainability was key by providing all project materials available only in digital form. VET partners across seven countries were willing to collaborate, reinforcing European identity and aligning with Erasmus+ priorities: inclusion, digital transition, and sustainability.

The project created a Portfolio with tools to enhance job market access for VET trainees. Partners adapted best practices to create innovative, EU-compatible resources. Cross-sector cooperation ensured scalability across education levels. Pilot studies in 7 countries and with 14 organisations like the local Chamber of Commerce supported transnational networks, maximizing impact through collaboration. Focus groups with stakeholders and testing in classrooms gave the opportunity to the partners to perfect the final tools. The PFE project comprises a flexible Methodological guide for teachers and 5 interactive learning Modules for Learners: M1 Knowing Yourself: Developing self-awareness and identifying suitable job opportunities M2 Applying for a Job: Writing a professional CV and completing application forms M3 Practicing: Preparing for job interviews through practical exercises M4 Fitting In: Adjusting to a new workplace and understanding company culture M5 Learning from Experience: Tools for self-reflection to improve future applications. Those modules were translated into the 6 partner languages and shared in their network throughout the associated partners and organised multiplier summits to maximise the impact of our project.

The partners delivered 6 key results. First, a variable-access Pedagogical Methodology for teachers, supporting remote, blended, and face-to-face teaching. This module guides educators in digital tools and hybrid learning to help trainees enter the job market. Second, a flexible Learning Programme with five interactive modules helping with career planning, job applications, interview preparation, workplace readiness, and self-reflection for future applications. All resources are open-source, editable, available in seven languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Latvian and Lithuanian), adaptable to diverse learners and downloadable via the PFE website. The project aims to empower VET educators by providing accessible, customizable materials that complement EU tools. Additionally, two Communities of Practice, a website, social media pages, and a YouTube channel showcase success stories and ensure broad impact. Key outcomes include increased job-market success, enhanced social, digital, and citizenship skills, improved self-confidence, and employer satisfaction. By upskilling VET educators, the project fosters innovation in digital learning, strengthening European identity and expanding opportunities for trainees.
