Innovative practices for inclusive education in the digital age

The reason of necessity to conduct this project was identified by the teachers of 94SU who looked to discover an effective approach to use digital tools in education for the purposes of inclusive education and social inclusion of our disadvantaged students (students from Roma origin and those with disabilities). In this regard, we involved our Spanish partners in order to explore good practices at European level to enhance the teachers' skills, related to the use of ICT in teaching is not an end in itself, but part of the school's strategy for raising the qualification of the teachers. The project gave to us the opportunity to help educators to become more actively confident in the application of digital technologies directly in their teaching. Thanks to that, the teachers are able to plan and design proposals for education and training, such as contributing to the review of curricula and the development of training courses. The teachers researched on appropriate digital means and resources for upgrading traditional methodologies and they are now able to support the inclusive learning process with free resources for the creation, storage and dissemination of e-learning content.

With the implementation of the project we have achieved the following objectives: a study of good practices and new opportunities for improving efficiency in implementing digital tool in teaching and learning for the purposes of inclusive education for prevention and reducing the risk of children dropping out of school and students in groups threatened by leaving the education system early and subject to social exclusion.

- Increased qualification and professionalism of the involved teachers from 94 secondary schools to apply diverse teaching methods based on ICT; - Upgraded partnership and cooperation with European partners and reached an agreement to participate in other project activities under the "Erasmus +" Program on current educational topics of mutual interest; - Exchange and adaptation of good practices in the field of education with ICT methods for the purposes of inclusive education; - Upgrading the digital competences of teachers to use innovative teaching methods, with the aim of achieving a more complete inclusion of students from 94 SU, Sofia.
