Low skilled women' empowerment through global competence and mentorship - UPCOMING WOMEN
▶Summary
The UPCOMING WOMEN project aims to address global gender inequalities, especially focusing on low-skilled women in vulnerable situations, such as migrants, survivors of discrimination and violence, and those from rural areas. Recognizing the slow progress towards gender equality worldwide, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the project aligns with the Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025. In response to emerging economic, digital, and cultural forces, the project emphasizes the urgency of equipping adults with global competence. Drawing from the OECD PISA global competence framework, the project seeks to empower individuals to thrive in multicultural communities, adapt to changing labor markets, use media responsibly, support Sustainable Development Goals, and pursue lifelong learning. By targeting both low-skilled women and professionals in the field, including trainers and counselors, UPCOMING WOMEN aims to upskill women and equip professionals with gender-specific digital tools and methodologies. The overarching goal is to enhance social and labor inclusion, fostering women's contribution to economic and social development.
▶Objectives
Empower and upskill low-skilled women in vulnerable situations to enhance their global competence, thus promoting their social and labor inclusion. Upskill professionals by providing them with globally competent and gender-based digital tools and mentoring methodologies. This will enhance their ability to work with low-skilled women in vulnerable situations and offer better support. Raise awareness about gender inequalities and contribute to the advancement of gender equality. Promote a network of organizations from Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, and Turkey to foster innovation on a global scale, ensuring broader transferability and sustainability of the project.
