โ–ถSummary

The absence of established mechanisms for Seafarers' Certificates of Competency (COC) and their inconsistent application across nations pose a challenge for seafarers seeking acceptance or endorse...

โ–ถObjectives

The ENDORSEME Project: - Undertook a comprehensive analysis, identifying issues related to the recognition and endorsement of certificates through a questionnaire-based needs assessment and investigation of unexplored areas. - An online platform and tool were developed to assist seafarers, shipping companies, and Maritime Education and Training (MET) institutions in determining the acceptance or endorsement of seafarers' certificates across different countries. ENDORSEME facilitated the monitoring of the success of diverse systems and requirements by creating a quality assurance and control system for the issuance of certificates. This not only allowed the transfer of best practices among member states and globally but also ensured the implementation of high-quality programs. By cross-referencing the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW) requirements, ENDORSEME enhanced the mobility of seafarers within European countries, promoting the Citizenship program. ENDORSEME united local and national criteria, enhancing transparency and skill recognition across neighboring and international nations. In collaboration with key accrediting, and licensing bodies, it harmonized all standards within its framework.
