DEVELOPMENT OF SENSE OF INITIATIVE AND ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT TO HELP SUSTAINABLE INCLUSION OF PUPILS WITH LOWER POSSIBILITIES

The main objective of the project was to offer students and educators a tool to help them overcome the obstacles they encountered during the difficult and stressful COVID-19 time. By implementing the project, the specific goal is to enable educators and students to a comprehensive material that will shed light on the problem of taking initiative and help sustain the inclusion of students with lower possibilities. By providing this material to society, it is believed that the impact of this project will shrink the abyss between various groups and offer an equal opportunity for everyone.

There was a need for a material that would diminish the impact the COVID epidemics has left on us. Therefore, the competency “Sense of Initiative and Entrepreneurial Spirit“ was regarded as an integrative, action-centered, creativity-driven, leadership-oriented competency, which needed to be addressed in depth. The content of this project is not solely aimed at entrepreneurship but also applies to the everyday life of each individual. Due to the COVID epidemics educational institutions were forced to take the initiative and shift their teaching approach which in general resulted in deepening the abyss between students. The project is aimed both at students and educators providing them with a tool for combatting such inequality in society. To address the online teaching environment, the materials also include electronic and smartphone versions which are complemented by the written version of the materials. We are sure that the materials were prepared thoroughly to meet the needs of the pupils and their educators and will reinforce their ability and willingness to develop creativity, be able and willing to take initiative, increase their entrepreneurial spirit, and thus become socially more valuable citizens.

The outputs of the project are mainly the materials compiled by the project team – textbooks, students' books, and supplements to the materials, smartphone and electronic versions in particular. The material also includes the tools which may be applied in the teaching process such as lesson plans for each module of the project. A major aspect of the project is its versatility. The materials compiled by the international team may be applied in various subjects at school and may also be used publicly in any field, for instance by community centres. The materials are not only available in printed form but also in electronic form which has been published on the official website of the project. The books provide a thorough and comprehensive output that deals with various fields of developing initiative in youths. The cooperation in the project contributed to tight connection among the partners and ensures future partnership, moreover, the experience gained in the project will be useful in future projects.
